THE STORY (SO FAR)
“Do. Or do not. There is no try.”
Yoda, The Empire Strikes Back
A Yoda quote might seem a strange inspiration for a brewery, but as always the big eared little guy speaks much truth. Two Heads started out as little more than a half-baked idea being tossed around over a couple of cold ones between beer loving brothers Cam & Greg Hedley. As the old saying goes, talk is cheap. We decided we needed to do something about it or move on.
Never ones to shy away from a challenge, we chose the first option. Several hundred hours of hard work (mostly Greg’s), a few sleepless nights, and the occasional robust brotherly discussion later, we opened the doors to Two Heads on 30 April 2016. We are extremely proud to be the first new brewery to open in Bathurst in over 70 years and the only operational brewery in town.
Finally, “What’s with the Monkey and the Walrus” we hear you ask? Good question – we’ve drawn inspiration from our childhood nicknames and made ’em cool – Greg climbed before he walked, terrorising our mother in the process, and was dubbed “monkey” by our Aunt very early on in life. Campbell picked up the unfortunate nickname “Walrus” in high school, but what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, so the walrus now proudly adorns the Two Heads logo.
We’d love to tell you more about our beers and our story, so we hope you drop in soon for a visit and a cold one!
